Levi in Autumn 2026: Events and Early Winter

Discover autumn in Levi, Lapland: fall colours, concerts, the World Cup and the opening of the 2026–27 winter season.

Levi in Autumn 2026: Events and Early Winter

Autumn in Levi is not simply a transition between summer and winter. In September, the fells turn colour, restaurants fill with music and the outdoors remain ideal for a wide range of activities. By early October, attention is already turning to snow, and in November Levi welcomes international alpine skiing.

This guide brings together the most important events in Levi from September to the beginning of the Christmas season in 2026. Dates and practical details were checked against the official websites of the event organisers and Visit Levi on 22 August 2026. Organisers may still update programmes, schedules and prices.

If you choose just one weekend: Ruskakarkelot on 4–5 September combines autumn colours, ten artists and six event venues. For sports fans, World Cup Levi on 14–15 November is the highlight of the season. If you are looking for peace and quiet, Sound, Silence & Sauna on 22 September or A Night by the Lake on 29–30 September may be a better fit.

September 2026 – autumn colours and events

September is the season of autumn colours in Levi. Days can still be sunny and mild, while the evenings already feel distinctly autumnal. The fells are excellent for outdoor activities, and there is something happening in the village almost every week.

Ruskakarkelot, 4–5 September 2026

Ruskakarkelot is a new music event spanning the whole Levi area, taking place for the first time in September 2026. Over two days, the programme unfolds across six venues: Hullu Poro Arena, Tuikku, Bar Ihku, Cafe & Bar Koda, Pub Old Mates and Pub Hölmölä.

The artists are divided between the two days as follows:

  • Friday 4 September: Jean S. at Hullu Poro Arena, Eini at Tuikku, Mikko Alatalo at Pub Hölmölä, Jukka Poika at Cafe & Bar Koda, E-Rotic at Bar Ihku and Johanna Pakonen at Pub Old Mates.
  • Saturday 5 September: Eini at Hullu Poro Arena, Dog Hustlers at Tuikku, Mikko Alatalo at Pub Hölmölä, Ramses II at Cafe & Bar Koda, Tiisu at Pub Old Mates and Mighty44 at Bar Ihku.

A day ticket costs €65 and a weekend ticket €95. Any cloakroom service fee is not included. Advance tickets must be exchanged for a wristband before visiting the venues. Wristbands can be collected at Old Mates on 3–5 September and at Tuikku on 4–5 September. Individual gig tickets may be sold at the doors if capacity remains.

Check the latest programme, ticket and wristband information on the Ruskakarkelot website. If you want to see a particular artist, arrive at the venue early: a wristband does not guarantee entry if the restaurant is full.

September concerts at Hullu Poro Arena

In addition to Ruskakarkelot, Hullu Poro Arena has several of its own concerts in September. The official event listings currently include:

The age limit for these evening events at Hullu Poro Arena is generally 18. Check the doors-open time, performance schedule and ticket information on the individual event page.

Afternoon concerts at Tuikku

Restaurant Tuikku’s autumn programme is a good choice for travellers who want to combine fell scenery, afternoon music and a meal. According to the official event calendar, the September programme includes:

Events at Tuikku usually begin in the afternoon. Admission, age limits and possible ticket requirements vary from one event to another.

Ruskamarathon, 12 September 2026

Ruskamarathon takes place on Saturday 12 September 2026 for the 42nd time. The routes run through the fell landscape coloured by autumn, and participants can choose a distance ranging from a full marathon to shorter alternatives.

The event suits both goal-oriented runners and anyone who wants to experience Levi’s autumn scenery on foot. Check the organiser’s website for registration details and exact distances.

ARON – Elvis goes Lapland

ARON – Elvis goes Lapland brings an Elvis tribute to Marys Chapel on 14 and 20 September 2026. The concerts feature Presley’s country, gospel, love and rock ’n’ roll songs.

According to the official event page, tickets cost €25 for adults and €10 for children under 12. Tickets are sold at the door one hour before the concert.

Levi Bike Park Closing Day, 20 September 2026

Levi Bike Park Closing Day takes place on Sunday 20 September 2026. The day marks the end of the Bike Park season with a relaxed autumn programme and the final rides before winter arrives. The detailed programme will be published closer to the event.

Wellness in the autumn landscape

The autumn programme also includes options for slowing down instead of moving from one venue to the next.

Sound, Silence & Sauna – with Lakeview Dinner takes place in Kelontekemä, approximately 60 kilometres from Levi, on 22 September 2026. This four-hour private small-group experience is designed for up to four guests. The programme includes a welcome drink and joik singing, dinner by the lake, a sauna and a sound bath from 17:00 to 21:00. The price is €520 per private group.

A Night by the Lake – Autumn Retreat is an overnight retreat in the same lakeside setting in Kelontekemä on 29–30 September 2026. The package includes private accommodation, a lakeside sauna, evening tea, a light homemade supper and breakfast. Prices start at €220 per night for one or two people.

October 2026 – the winter season begins

Winter season opening, 2–4 October 2026

Levi’s winter season opening weekend takes place on 2–4 October 2026. The alpine and cross-country skiing seasons open on Friday 2 October. Snow stored from the previous winter makes it possible to start skiing in early autumn, and the opening weekend programme includes slope and sporting events alongside culture and entertainment.

The detailed programme will be announced closer to the date. Early October is an interesting combination of seasons in Levi: the forest may still show the last colours of autumn while the slopes and ski tracks are already being prepared for winter.

November 2026 – World Cup and the start of the Christmas season

Audi FIS Ski World Cup Levi, 14–15 November 2026

World Cup Levi brings the world’s best alpine skiers to Levi in November. The women’s and men’s slalom races take place on the Levi Black slope on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 November. The event area is open from 13 to 15 November.

Levi is an early venue in the alpine skiing World Cup season, so the race weekend appeals both to supporters travelling to the event and to international sports travellers. Official tickets are available through Tiketti, with both event-area and grandstand tickets available. The official World Cup Levi website also provides information about VIP options and weekend services.

Concerts during the World Cup weekend

The sporting weekend also has evening entertainment. Hullu Poro Arena hosts:

Check the venue’s website for door times, performance times and age limits, as the evening programme may still change.

Levi Christmas Market, 20 November 2026–6 January 2027

Levi Christmas Market opens on 20 November 2026 near Zero Point, at the foot of the Front Slope. The market sells handicrafts, local treats and Christmas gifts, and the declaration of Christmas peace is read there on Christmas Eve.

The Christmas Market is open daily from 12:00 to 17:00 between 20 November 2026 and 6 January 2027. Mondays are maintenance days, so not all vendors may be present. On Christmas Eve, 24 December, the market is open from 12:00 to 15:00. It is closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve, 31 December. The market closes when temperatures fall below –20°C.

How to plan a successful autumn trip to Levi

  1. Book your accommodation early. Ruskakarkelot and World Cup Levi attract different types of travellers, but both can increase demand during their respective weekends.
  2. Pack layers. September days can be mild, but wind on the fells and cooler evenings arrive quickly. Winter conditions are already possible in October.
  3. Check the event’s own website before setting off. Programmes, prices, ticket arrangements and opening hours may change.
  4. Combine events with the outdoors. Autumn colours, fell trails, cycling and the first snow make Levi much more than an event destination.

In early October, preparations for Levi’s winter season are already visible in practice. Stored snow is spread on the slopes and the first ski tracks are built before winter properly arrives.
